Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Littleshelf (the "Service") operated by Yu-tang Chneg ("we," "us," or "our").

By using Littleshelf, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Littleshelf account.

If you create profiles for children in the Service, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have explicit permission from the child's parent or legal guardian to enter information about them.

2. Your account

You are responsible for:

Keeping your account credentials secure
All activity that happens under your account
The information you enter about yourself and others

If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at ytcheng721@gmail.com.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or sexually explicit
Upload photos of children other than children for whom you have parental or guardian authority
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
Attempt to access another user's account without permission
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
Use the Service to send unsolicited communications to other users
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content you upload to Littleshelf (photos, tags, comments, notes).

By uploading content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and process that content for the purpose of operating the Service for you and the people you share it with.

This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

5. Friends and sharing

When you connect with friends through Littleshelf, you choose what information to share. You're responsible for who you connect with and what you share with them. We are not responsible for how friends use information you share with them.

If a friend uploads content you find inappropriate, you can remove them as a friend and report the content to us at ytcheng721@gmail.com.

6. Book metadata

Littleshelf uses book metadata (titles, authors, descriptions, cover images) from third-party sources including Google Books and Open Library. This information is provided as-is and may contain errors or be incomplete. We do not own this metadata and do not guarantee its accuracy.

7. Service availability

Littleshelf is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee:

That the Service will be available at all times
That all features will work as described
That data will never be lost (though we take regular backups)
That the Service is suitable for any particular purpose

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We'll make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your information.

9. Termination

You can stop using Littleshelf at any time by deleting your account from the Profile screen.

We may terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 4, 10, 11, 13) will continue after termination.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. SINCE LITTLESHELF IS FREE, THIS WILL TYPICALLY BE US$50.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yu-tang Chneg from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of Taiwan.
